Bassenthwaite Lake
Bassenthwaite Lake is one of the largest bodies of water in the Lake District at 4 miles long and 3/4 mile wide but also one of the most shallow at 70 feet. It is very picturesque being overlooked by Skiddaw and other fells. There is a sailing club which holds regular meetings.
