Blenheim Lodge

Nestled quietly against woodlands, Blenheim Lodge is a former gentleman's residence, boasting panoramic views of Lake Windermere and the mountains beyond. Enjoy old world courtesy and friendly hospitality at our AA four-star guesthouse, offering 10 en-suite bedrooms and one with private bathroom. Many are furnished with lovely antique furniture and Laura Ashley soft furnishings. Each has hospitality tray, remote control colour TV, and access to hair dryers.
The Langdale has a double half-tester bed and huge triple floor to ceiling bay windows with spectacular panoramic Lake views. The Fairfield has a Louis XV suite with king-sized bed and an irreistible daybed in the large triple floor to ceiling bay windows where you can rest to admire stunning north Lake and mountain views. The Dalesway overlooks beautiful tranquil countryside and features a fabulous antique Louis XV double bed with intricate roccoco carvings.
Our rooms are all individual in character, with two rooms on the ground floor suitable for those who prefer not to go upstairs. One of these ground floor rooms is The Blue Room: its imposing solid brass double bed with a bespoke pocket sprung mattress is so comfortable that our guests have threatened to take it home with them!
If you are visiting with friends or family, or simply wish to enjoy the welcoming warmth of our fireplace, why not use our lounge where you can enjoy a cosy chat or curl up on the sofa with a good book? (We have a small library.) Our lounge overlooks Old Bowness and Lake Windermere, and there you can sit in the bay windows and enjoy a lovely cup of tea, or a nice glass of wine.
For breakfast, we use quality local produce, including handmade sausage and bacon. The dairy delivers daily: bottles of milk topped with cream the old-fashioned way; tasty eggs with large orangy yolks. Home-baked croissants are served oven-fresh with equally delectable muffins. Vegetarian options are also available.
We are walker friendly: the Dales Way Walk (practically) ends in our backyard. We have two free WADAA fishing permits (first come first served), outside taps for boots (and fish!), and a drying room. We are golfer, cyclist and biker friendly; and can organise walks and sightseeing tours that pick up from our house. Do feel free to ask us to fill your flasks while staying with us - we will gladly do it and there is no extra charge!
Bowness town centre, Lake Windermere and the pier are 5 minutes walk from us. We offer free membership at a private leisure club 5-7 minutes walk, where you can enjoy the swimming pool, Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. There are also squash and badminton courts, table tennis, snooker and pool tables, a gym and solarium, as well as a lounge bar.
At Blenheim Lodge, we believe in quality service with that extra personal touch! Why not stay with us for a few days or more (B&B weekly rates: ?235-?280 per person per week), enjoy the beautiful scenery of the English Lakes, and forget the stresses of everyday life? If you are celebrating a special occasion, we can arrange flowers, wine, champagne and luxury handmade chocolate truffles for your arrival.
Come stay with us. Slip between clean, crisp white sheets, snuggle under fluffy Norwegian duvets, and listen - to the sound of silence! Then snooze off, and awaken refreshed to birdsong! We look forward to welcoming You!
