At the White Rose
The White Rose, close to Windermere, is a traditional Lakeland stone built house that was built in 1817, A four star guest house, it is close to the shops, restaurants and cafes in Windermere village - the perfect position for visiting the stunning Lake District.
The White Rose has six well furnished en-suite bedrooms.
Five bedrooms have double beds and the 6th has twin beds that can be linked together to make a king sized bed.
The delicious freshly prepared breakfasts and the friendly service offered means we have many guests returning time and again to enjoy a few days of relaxation at the guest house.
The six bedrooms all have digital TV with DVD player, tea and coffee making facilities, a hairdryer and an alarm clock radio
We have a ground floor en-suite double bedroom (Bedroom 6) which is accessed through a small yard - at the rear of the property.
We have an excellent selection of maps and guides showing all the best places to visit whilst in the Lake District.
Close to the towns of Bowness, Ambleside and Kendal, you will find something for everyone to enjoy - whether it is shopping, walking, rambling, cycling - or sightseeing, we can help you make the most of your time in the Lake District.

Price guide
Prices for standard en-suite double bedrooms range from 29.00 to 32.00 per person per night for bed and breakfast.
Prices for the twin bedroom range from 34.00 to 38.00 per person per night for bed and breakfast.
Prices for the larger double bedroom is £34.00 to £37.00 per person per night.
Price for single occupation of a standard en-suite double bedroom ranges from 45.00 to 55.00 per night depending on the length of stay and the month in which you would like to visit.
Directions to At the White Rose
Travelling from the North or South, leave the M6 at Junction 36. Take the A590 towards the South Lakes and then the A591 towards Windermere.
As you drop down to Windermere town, turn left at the National Westminster Bank. Travel through the one-way system. As the one-way system ends, Broad Street is on your left. Turn into Broad Street and we are at the far end. Have a safe journey!

We have achieved the following ratings: ETC 4 star ratingServicing: All our bedrooms are serviced daily, with freshly laundered, white fluffy bath towels changed daily also.
Pets accepted: Sorry, no pets allowed.
Pets on site: We have a rather timid cat - who keeps well out of the way of our guests - Dylan.
Smoking: Due to the smoking laws, smoking is not allowed in the house. We do have a seat in thel front garden.

Meals: We serve a delicious, traditional English breakfast in our delightful breakfast room between 08.30 and 09.00 (earlier times by prior arrangement). Of course, vegetarian and other special diets are easily catered for - but please let us know if you have any dietary needs when you book the room! Our breakfast consist of chilled fruit juice, fruit yogurt and choice of cereals, followed by the main course which features free range eggs, crispy back bacon, local sausage, freshly baked tomato, oven baked button mushrooms and baked beans. Toasted brown bread - a lovely seeded batch - and white toast is served warm with butter and a choice of preserves and honey. Freshly brewed tea and cafetieres of coffee - refilled as many times as you wish - complement the meal.

Disabled access / facilities: We have one ground floor bedroom which is accessed through a courtyard at the rear of the house.
