The Old Barn

Set nestling in a superb position, at the foot of England’s highest mountain (Scafell), and on the edge of England’s deepest lake (Wastwater), is Woodhow Farm with its holiday cottage – the Old Barn (sleeps 2/4).
The cottage has an open plan kitchen and sitting room with a wood burning stove. Upstairs are two bedrooms, one double and one set of bunks. The bathroom is also upstairs.
The Farm has existed since 1757 and has changed over the centuries. However, many original features remain, from the original water pump to the barns that form the heart of the Woodhow. Still a traditional working farm with a flock of Herdwick Sheep, it has recently taken on some new additions in the form of two herds of goat!
Wastwater Lake itself is only a short stroll away, and boasts some of the best walking & diving in the Lake District.
There are three pubs in the valley - Wasdale Head Inn at the top of the lake, and the Screes & the Strands face each other in Nether Wasdale on the way to Gosforth Village.
