The Smithy
The Smithy which is located in a tranquil area close to Cockermouth and the Vale of Lorton, is short drive from Crummock Water and Loweswater. The cottage was originally a blacksmiths forge built of local stone and slate and has recently been sympathetically restored, retaining its charm and character, including vaulted ceilings and original beams, making this a cosy, traditional cottage.
The property is heated by electric heaters and comprises open plan kitchen with electric oven and hob, fridge with freezer box and microwave, a Lounge/Diner with electric stove-effect fire, Freeview TV and video and DVD/CD player. Double and single bedroom, shower room with wash hand basin and WC.
All electric and bed linen and towels are included. Private parking. Picnic area with seating. Sandy Beck stream runs through the bottom of the grounds.
