Number 3
Number 3 is a single story 18th century cottage built from the local red sandstone, recently and sympathetically modernized. Located in the village of Lazonby in the beautiful Eden Valley we are within easy reach of the charming market town of Penrith and the M6 (6 miles).
Number 3 is set back some 100 metres from the road accessed via a private pedestrian lane in a secluded and peaceful setting (four properties in total). The cottage is ideal for two people. The galleried sitting room is a place to relax around the open fire, looking out onto the flagged seating area and enclosed kitchen garden. A colour T.V, DVD and CD are provided and there are ample books, guides and maps covering the immediate area and the Lake District featuring recommended walks, bike rides, pubs and places to visit.
The kitchen leads from the sitting room and is fully equipped with crockery and cooking utensils, oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. An ironing board and iron is also provided in the small utility room along with a washing machine. The dining room leads from the kitchen with dining table and seating; it also includes a single futon bed which can be used for a child or overnight guest. The double bedroom leads from the sitting room and is furnished in a comfortable country style with ample storage. All linen is provided, including towels and tea-towels and the bed is always made up prior to your arrival.
The Vale of Eden is Cumbria’s ‘hidden gem’; a range of villages scattered along the banks of the River Eden overlooked by the broad sweep of the Pennine hills. The cottage is the ideal base for exploring the local area whether on foot or by bicycle. The Lake District lies to the west with Ullswater and the fells of Blencathra and Skiddaw a twenty minute drive away. The Yorkshire Dales and the Scottish Borders are also easily accessible from Lazonby.
