High House
High House holiday cottage offers stylish self-catering accommodation for up to six people. The house is beautiful throughout with attention to detail that makes this house a cut above the rest.
There are three double bedrooms, three bathrooms, large kitchen, sitting room and dining room.
The views from the house are spectacular towards Irton Church and then to the mountains beyond. From the house you can walk to the church which has an ancient cross erected in the 9th Century. Look out for the plaque by the font dedicated to the memory of RW Skeffington Lutwidge, commissioner in lunacy who died from a blow to the head adminstered by a lunatic in Salisbury.
Situated just outside Holmrook village, High House is superbly located to explore the Western Lake District fells and coastline. Wasdale with Wastwater Lake is just 4 miles away (10 minutes by car) and is a fantastic place to be when the stars are out on a clear night. Wasdale is a good place to tackle Scafell, England's highest mountain.

Follow the A590 to Newby Bridge.
Follow the A5092 to Broughton in Furness.
Follow the A595 towards Workington and Whitehaven.
Go through Holmrook, past the Lutwidge Arms.
After Holmrook, take the first right turning (signed to Santon Bridge)
High House is the first house on your right.
