Howe View
Howe View is situated in the quiet village of Braithwaite near Keswick in the Lake District. Howe View offers luxury bed and breakfast in wonderful surroundings for visitors to the English Lake District. Howe View is owned and run by Tony and Linda Martin. They also have Rock Lynn which is a self catering property two doors down.
There is always a warm welcome at Howe View, and Linda will provide you with whatever you require for breakfast, full English or continental. Packed lunches may be provided on request. Also while you are here feel free to take advantage of their extensive local knowledge of the surrounding area. Both have always lived in the Keswick area and have their finger on the pulse for whatever you might want to do.
The views from Howe View are some of the best the Lake District has to offer. The Skiddaw range, part of the Newlands Valley, it is also possible to see the as far as the pennines to the east.
Howe View is built on the site of the original wooden house, which was demolished in 1990 and was re-built a year later to the highest of structural and decorative standards by Tony.
Directions to Howe View
The village of Braithwaite is two and a half miles from Keswick just off the A66. Howe View sits on what is locally known as the "top road" it has a magnificent outlook over the village and its sports fields. You also have a spectacular panoramic view of the whole valley, from the Skiddaw range to the north to Keswick in the east and across to Walla Crag and the Helvellyn range and the beginning of the Borrowdale Valley to the south east.
From the M6 motorway: Take Junction 41 (Penrith) and head on the A66 towards Keswick and West Cumbria. Go past the first turning for Keswick and straight over the roundabout. After three miles you will see signs for Braithwaite village and Whinlatter.
Take the first turn into Braithwaite and continue on this road until you see The Royal Oak straight in front of you at this point prepare to take the second right turn, (which is quite sharp and narrow) you are now on the top road. All the properties are on the left hand side of the road, after 75 metres look for the Howe View entrance.
