Broadness Cottage offers self catering accommodation close to Bassenthwaite Lake near Keswick in the Lake District. Located within the grounds of Broadness farm, the self catering cottage has tremendous Lakeland panoramic views of Skiddaw and the surrounding Lake District fells and vales. The property comfortably sleeps 2 to 7 people.
Broadness cottage consists of three good sized bedrooms (a double, a twin and a family room with a double and single bed), a comfortable lounge with woodburning stove, television & welsh dresser, a well equipped kitchen, a dining area and a family bathroom with bath, seperate shower and w.c. There is private parking for all guests.
The farm and adjoining land is owned by the Hodgson family. The land runs all the way to the shore of Bassenthwaite Lake (only 150 yards away!) where you are welcome to take walks, have picnics and enjoy the stunning views over the Lake District countryside (where you may also see the local Ospreys).
Directions to Broadness Cottage
Broadness self catering Cottage is situated within the grounds of Broadness Farm towards Scarness at Bassenthwaite Lake. The property is 5 miles from Keswick.
From the M6 motorway: Take junction 41 (Penrith) and take the A66 West towards Keswick, Cockermouth and West Cumbria. After 14 miles you will see signs for turning into Keswick. Go past these and continue until you reach the main roundabout. Take a right on the A591.
Follow the road for approximately 4.5 miles (heading past Little Dodd Garden Centre and the historic Mire House). Half a mile after the turning into Mire House you will see a left turn (where the road turns sharply right).
Turn left (signposted Scarness) and follow this road for roughly half a mile (past St.Begas church) until you arrive at the driveway for Broadness Farm. Go along the drive and towards the farm, veering right as you enter the grounds. There is private parking directly outside of the cottage on the left.
