Moor Cottage
Moor Cottage is a two bedroomed cottage providing character accommodation with modern comforts. The cottage has been recently refurbished with new kitchen, bathroom, double glazing and oil-fired central heating, and has been furnished and equipped to a very high standard. The outlook is over open countryside to Hutton Roof Crags. A perfect base for walkers or couples wanting to explore the Lakes and the Dales from a quiet location.
Conveniently located in the beautiful surroundings of Hutton Roof, in the Lune Valley, Moor Cottage is an ideal base to discover, whether by foot, bicycle or car, the many delights the area has to offer. There are super walks and climbing right from the door on Hutton Roof Crags and Farleton Knott. Both are areas of special scientific interest featuring a spectacular limestone pavement, fossils and rare plants. A few minutes drive away is the nature reserve and bird sanctuary at Leighton Moss. Only a 5 minute drive away is Kirkby Lonsdale, a traditional market town full of character with a wealth of delightful speciality shops, great pubs, cafes and restaurants. A stroll around the town will allow you to discover the fourteenth century Devil?s Bridge, a wonderful vista from Ruskin?s View and a fine Norman Church with its picturesque graveyard. Drive to Ingleton for the waterfalls and caves or for serious walking try the Three Peaks of Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen y Ghent. Visit the villages and market towns of Dent, Settle and Skipton. The Settle to Carlisle railway is only 30 minutes? drive away. In the other direction is the English Lake District, famous world-wide for its scenery, fell walking and literary heritage. Whether you have been walking, touring, exploring or indulging in history and glorious gardens at one of the many National Trust properties in the region, Moor Cottage is a peaceful place to return to after a long day.
Downstairs, the front door opens into the lounge with lovely woodburning stove, TV and video. The kitchen is fully equipped with Aga, microwave, and a washer-drier. Upstairs there are two bedrooms ? one with a double bed, the other with bunk beds. The bathroom has a bath, power shower, washbasin and wc. The cottage is no-smoking throughout. Pets are welcome.
