17thC barn conversion cottages situated in a peaceful courtyard in the centre of Allonby village. Original features have been retained to compliment the modern comforts these cottages have.
TURNIP HOUSE sleeps 2-4
The lounge/dining room has patio doors opening onto a paved patio. The kitchen is fully equipped. There are 2 bedrooms-1 double & 1 twin and a bathroom with power shower over the bath.
HAYBARN sleeps 2-4
The lounge which opens onto a walled patio & garden. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a dining table. The bathroom has a power shower over the bath. The master bedroom comprises of a king size four poster bed whilst the second bedroom contains twin beds.
EIGHT BYRE sleeps 2
A ground floor studio cottage. Comfortably furnished, the lounge area has a 2 piece suite, the kitchenette is fully equipped and the sleeping area has a double bed. The bathroom has a power shower over the bath.
MILKING PARLOUR sleeps 2-4
This cottage is all ground floor level. The lounge has a stone fireplace with stove and patio doors which open onto a paved area and garden. The open plan kitchen / dining area is fully equipped There are two bedrooms-1 double & 1 twin, and the bathroom has a power shower over the bath.
BARLEY STORE sleeps 2-5
The large entrance hall has a cantilevered balcony and the lounge / dining room has a freestanding stove fire and a door that opens onto a private garden. The kitchen is fully equipped.
There are three bedrooms:1-king, 1-twin and 1-single and a bathroom with freestanding claw-foot bath and shower cubicle.
ENGINE HOUSE sleeps 2-6
The entrance hall has an open gallery with antique pine staircase. The large living room has digital TV, DVD & CD player & freestanding stove fire and the oak kitchen has an intergrated dishwasher. The separate dining room has a door leading into the garden. Upstairs there are three bedrooms: king with en-suite, double and twin, and a bathroom with period suite including freestanding claw-foot bath.
All cottages have double-glazing & gas central heating. Gas, electric & bed-linen supplied at no extra cost. Short breaks available.
We have a laundry / drying room, and an Information Centre where guests will find leaflets to plan visits to local attractions. There is ample off road parking.
Close to all amenities including swimming pool, children?s play area, sea banks & beach.
Allonby is situated in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is an ideal base for touring. Being only 30 minutes drive from the Cumbrian lakes and mountains, and 10 minutes from the town of Maryport with its Ancient Roman Fort and wealth of Maritime heritage.

Directions to Dickinson Place Holiday Cottages
From Penrith - Follow the A66 towards Cockermouth, then take the A594 to Maryport. Turn right onto the A596 for half a mile before bearing left onto the B5300 heading towards Allonby.
From Carlisle - Follow signs for Workington (A595 / A596). At Thursby roundabout take the A596 for Wigton. (Do not go into Wigton itself).Go along Wigton bypass then turn right onto the B5302 to Silloth. At Silloth turn left onto the B5300, heading along the coast to Allonby.
Once at Allonby the cottages are situated roughly in the middle of the village. The courtyard is sign posted, set back slightly form the road.
