Welcome to our historic, Les Routiers-listed, 18th Century Lakeland coaching inn overlooking Ullswater.
With such stunning views it's hard to believe that you're only 6 miles from the M6 Motorway & Penrith station. Already it seems a world away!
We have 17 comfortable rooms, all en-suite, ranging from single rooms to family-sized suites.
As you'd expect, there's a cosy bar with an open fire and we serve a renowned range of food and drink.
You can choose to eat in the the bar or in the comfortable lounge, in our award-winning restaurant or even - when the weather's fine - out on the terrace overlooking the lake.
Whichever, you can be sure of great value & delicious choices. It's all prepared on the premises by our own chefs and includes many local dishes and some imaginative specials.
To wash it all down with we have a great selection of fine wines including a dozen or so available by the glass.

Directions to Brackenrigg Inn
From the M6 (Junction 40) - also close to Penrith Railway Station - take the A66 signed towards Keswick.
After about a mile turn left onto the A592 for Ullswater (at the roundabout by Rheged).
Follow this road to the T-junction at the lake shore and turn right (A592) along the lake shore.
We're on your right in about 3 miles, just after the sign for Watermillock.
Plenty of free parking!
